We are located in the heart of Olhãos old town About 120 meters north of the waterfront and 200 meters south of the oldest church in Olhãos, Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Once you step out of our Guesthouse you will be engulfed in the sights and sounds of a picture-perfect Portuguese town, cafes, seafood restaurants and genuine kind loving people. Just steps away from Pensão Bicuar, is the locate bakery, the largest fish market in the Algarve, the ferries to some of the most majestic idleness in Portugal, the Ria-Formosa National Park, hiking trails, birdwatching tours and snorkeling with sea-horses.
The fishermen’s quarter of old Olhão is a warren of narrow twisting streets. Close by moored are the brightly colored boats after their return from work at sea. The morning bustle of the market by the water’s edge and the outdoor cafes and restaurants where you can while away the time create a fascinating kaleidoscope of sensations for people strolling through the town.
Abundant seafood and local products to choose from the Olhão waterfront markets only a 2 minute walk from the Guesthouse. There are many cafes and restaurants to choose from all within short distance, we are happy to recommend some of our local favorites upon check in.
During the day guests can explore the Algarve (excellent local transport, trains or buses) as well as the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve & miles of undisturbed beaches of the two barrier islands lying close to Olhão – Culatra and Armona. Daily ferries run throughout the year.
